The way I see it, both ways achieve the desired effect of finding the
startfiles and libraries in /usr/lib.  It's out of mine (and most
people's) jurisdiction to say which one is technically more accurate
although both Greg and Ryan have done some nice education here.

I say, let's just pick one or the other and go with it, so long as it
achieves the desired effect.  Then we can me on to addressing some
simpler issues.

One of these issues is, how do we start the chroot section without
further altering /tools.  In other words, how can you tar up /tools at
the end of Ch. 5 and reliably unpack and use it down the road.  This
is the one knock I have against startfile_prefix_spec: it must be
placed into the default specs location, which is on /tools.
