The approach has been fixed. Chapter 5 binutils drops --enable-shared and builds a static ld-new for use in the re-adjusting section. Wrapper for ld is dropped, but we keep the one for gcc, with fixed -B tags. If it's felt that it's easier to follow and/or type by using a CC variable like DIY does, please state so. I can see no difference in the way DIY uses the -specs switch to gcc vs. dumping the specs to its location in /tools/lib/gcc/... as we've been doing in LFS. Both methods use an external specs file - only difference is that one is in a standard location and the other is specified via the -specs switch. If I'm missing something here, please drop me a cluebat. Extended sanity checks have been added and are based on is in DIY. I wanted as little typing there as possible there, so the grep commands have been changed slightly. -- JH -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
