Why do all this?

We don't mention that you can use Net-Tools instead of IPRoute and
then add a note to the bootscripts page.

Is there any difference?

However, because it is strictly only needed for UTF-8 compatibility,
it wouldn't really be a bad idea, as it keeps you from installing
BDB in LFS. However, the reader would then have to remember to do
the changes for both packages, and could lead to support issues.
