I know this is a topic a lot of people are interested in. How to get udev hotplugging working.

And I already provided a way of getting this working without a need for the package that the cross-lfs team has provided.

s/working/working in LFS/. New configuration breaks ALSA (if two PCI sound cards of different brands are used and drivers are modular), HAL and LibUSB in BLFS (but this also applies to Jim's package). Please don't include this into trunk without their permission, because they say that the BLFS SVN target is LFS SVN. A branch is always OK.

Sorry, I don't have time to express my opinion on Jim's package today in more detail. I spent too much time on the LiveCD (currently building Xorg), Berkeley DB and the UTF-8 patch. Maybe tomorrow.
