Absolutely Mark! and proud of it.

However I AM well aware that the riffs and songs that inspired and were
adapted by say Led Zep (Easy option), those of Howlin Wolf, Memphis Minnie
and Kansas Joe etc. etc. lead me to uncover that music and fully
appreciate the blues scene from the late 20's early 30's. It also made me
realise what wonderful MUSICIANS those people were and that Page, Plant,
Bonham and Jones are.
Keith Emersons early work with ELP and his later stuff with the Nice was
fascinating, using Bob Moogs very first prototype whilst pulling
influences from Jazz, classical and again the early blues scene.
At the end of the day there are only 8 chords and those 8 chords only have
a finite number of combinations in which they can be played. What I am
merely saying is that the modern dance scene is pants because rather than
use those influences/themes/tunes/chords and create a worthy adaptation
it's merely computer generated samples that are played over a dance beat.
It's infinately inferior in musician (I'm not a musician BTW) terms and if
you think it isn't ... I reckon you're living in cloud cuckoo land! ;-)
The resurgence of bands that actually play their own instruments is a god
send to me personally, The Raconteurs being my personal fave at the
moment.
