I'll try to answer this in good faith and I ask you to take the answer in 
good faith.
It really depends upon what you call a better offer.
There was an offer on the table which was better for the CLUB than the Bates 
offer (and the fans had a serious involvement in it) but the previous board 
at the last minute (literally) opted to take a different offer. Not 
everything takes place in the full spotlight of open publicity.
You have of course NOT answered the question about the various times you say 
that the fans should have acted.
There is also no logic in your statement that "surely it would have been 
accepted".
The realities of these situations is that different people involved have 
their own agendas and preferences and they have their own reasons for making 
their decisions. It is very easy to make nebulous statements and leaps of 
faith or logic but that does not make them true or real.
