of money but the fact is that he's stayed with Leeds
so it doesn't really matter. There's no loyalty in
footballany more. You say if he was any good a
premiership team would have been in for him. NO. We
all know he's lost a yard of pace and we all know he
couldn't live week in week out in the premiership but
neither could any of our players and Richardson just
wouldn't cut it at the moment. In a team of
journeyman, lone signings who can't really give a f'ck
as they're leaving in the Summer and just plain old
rubbish footballers Gary Kelly is someone who you can
rely on and somebody who can deal with most things in
this division. I just wish we had more players like
him in our squad at the mo. I for one can't wait until
he's back in the team and brings a bit of consistency
back to the right back position. Fraser seems to be
getting too many injuries and at the moment is not
consistent enough in my opinion."
Well Rich football is about opinions and I know our views differ on Kelly.
As you say, you are the last one to preach to me about having it in for any
of the players. I actually made the point I think Kelly is a decent bloke
whereas your rants have been much more personal and offensive about players
like Gregan, Butler, Douglas etc.
I don't know where to start responding really. You have made a lot of
subjective comments (over 500 games and mostly played well) the one fact is
he got Player of the Year and got in the Championship 11. I know that but it
doesnt change my views. He wasnt our player of the year last year but who am
I to disagree with Leeds fans who also voted for Brian Deane (twice).
Another useless tw*t. If you watched all the teams in the division last year
you would have picked several right backs that were far superior to Kelly.
If you didnt see any better than him you either werent watching or you have
never played the game.
Of course you have contradicted yourself by saying at the outset that I am
always slagging Kelly then observing wrongly that I kept quiet during his
"best perfomances" last year. I have continually criticised him, I remember
a long rant at his first half-perfomance at Leicester away last year which
was the worst by any player I have seen for many years. For £28k a week, now
I know you would happily pay this if you were our manager (thats probably
why you arent) but I expect a lot. He cant head, he cant tackle, he cant
read the game and has very little skill. He has relied on his speed to bale
him out and as you say he lost that yonks ago. Thats when I gave up on him.
The bottom line whether you are prepared to accept it or not is if this
bloke was any good he would have been snapped up elsewhere long ago. We have
sold every playing assett we have had but not him. For f*ck sake, Leeds
allegedly wanted rid so bad they were going to pay some hoods to break his
legs and claim the insurance!
Wise obviously feels the same as me because the little fella is going to
f*ck off Kelly. Who is waiting to sign him, ok not Prem teams but can the
bestr right back in the Championship get a contract with another
Chanmpionship team? No he is going to play in the paddy league for Drogheda
(sic?). I rest my case.
