Mark, you're rewriting history. You say that Bates
'said as much in the Summer I believe'

Mark he didn't say it. It was just Blackie trying to
justify another season. Bates never said anything
other than there's no excuses anymore - no whinging
about the past. He never said what there were no
excuses for but he never said that promotion wasn't an
expectation. Stop making things up.
