All I am saying is that at Wolves he had little or no money to spend (despite some being there) and that isn't necessarily going to be the case here. He will get *some* money to spend, he would have a fair amount of 'decent' players he could offload to raise finance if he didn't fancy them too.
Anyhow, if he was being told by Bates that there will be no money then yes, the question "why would he come to Leeds" is a valid one. In those circumstances though any job is better than no job, so it shouldn't be surprising if managers go to clubs even if they don't expect much in the way of ambition or financial backing in the transfer market. McCarthy being a case in point. However, if there is mileage in the rumours and Hoddle has been approached and is interested then that would suggest (to me) he is happy with any assurances from KB with regards funding rather than just wanting a job again. Ultimately Bates wants a premiership side (for glory or for onward sale), and there ain't no way that's going to happen unless funds are made available, from whatever source that may be. IMO of course! _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
