I cant be arsed to go through Blackwell's post match and midweek interviews
but he said on more than 2 occasions that the plan was for next season, due
to the money situation etc being sorted.

Indeed it may have been that which got him the sack because it is one thing
Bates agreeing with Blackwell acceptable position this year, but I doubt
Bates would have wanted that made public, however realistic it actually was.

And another little correction Rich, I didn’t want to 'give him another
season', I don’t know one person on the list who did. I wanted him to be in
charge at the start of this season and see what he would do. I said all
along that if we weren’t around the top of the league then he should go.

You of all people seem to have unrealistic expectations about which managers
might be interested in the job, let me tell you that significantly fewer
managers would be interested in the managers job had Bates sacked Blackwell
in the summer. What kind of message does that send out - "do as well as we
agreed and I will still sack you"?

That’s the difference between armchair managers and chairmen and those
actually doing the job, you have responsibilities that go beyond 2 feet in
front of your face.

Presumably you think Bates is a clown, is clueless and we should get rid of
him too? - not that we could but that hasn’t stopped you before :)

Nah, it's rubbish Mark.

Of course Blackwell was going to talk down promotion
early in the season. He knew he wasn't up to it and
was trying to buy another year in the job. Nobody ever
heard Bates say that he didn't expect promotion this
year BEFORE the sacking of Blackwell. Can you quote me
the interview please where he said that !?
Blackwell sacked cos of gross misconduct - yeah, yeah
, yeah Mark, we all know that the reason he was sacked
was cos we'd hardly won a game since last Christmas. I
would have got rid of him in the Summer (actually
before), you wanted to give him another season - sadly
and gladly you were wrong. Can I remind you of that !
