Interestingly my local non-league team, Bishop's Stortford F. C. in the Conference South, had a big drop in attendance last season after putting the prices up but this season, instead of the Ken Bates policy of screwing every penny out of the mugs that are stupid enough to pay they have put prices DOWN. - entry is now £9 (down from £10) - under 12s are now free (down from £2) - sitting in the stand is now free (down from £1) - and most importantly for me, a pint of Carlsberg Export in the bar is now £2.50 (was £2.80 last season). It's early days but the attendance for the first 2 homes games of this season is up 50% compared to last season. Oh, and they also won yesterday, 7 points out of 9 and in 4th position! So - Blackwell Out! Hayes In!
