Kevin Blackwell is a scheister. Reading about his post
match interview on another site just made my blood
boil. According to Blackwell we dominated the game,
should have won and lost to Cardiff’s only chance. He
then went on to have a go at Beckford for being naive.
The bloke is a top rate tosser. He used to talk with
passion about the club but now he just sounds like a
school kid who is using every excuse under the sun for
getting beat. What was he doing today ? Against Palace
it went well in that first half because Stone, Derry
and Westlake played close to each other in a tight
midfield. Did Blackie learn from that ? No ! He goes
with an unfit Stone on the right hand side which he
knew from Norwich didn't work ! As soon as Stone goes
off he goes to the only thing he knows 4-3-3 with
Healy moved to the right. Healy isn’t a f'cking right
winger and has just scored in an international playing
up front. He’s brought this Seb Coe bloke to play on
the wing and brings him on with 5 minutes to go.
Shocking, shocking tactics. Did we dominate ? Well,
you work it out. Their keeper didn’t have to make a
decent save in 90 minutes and our chances were
restricted to a Killa header (he should have done
better) , Beckford left footer which went wide , a
goal mouth scramble in the first half and a 30 yard
Bakke strike which was comfortable. That was it.
Warner on the other hand was busy throughout the first
half making 4 or 5 decent saves. Anyway, forget the
chances the general ability and cohesion of our team
is lacking. Without Stone to pass and move we
struggled. Westlake and Derry struggled in midfield to
get anything going and we still relied on balls to
Crainey who does what he does best by punting it down
the wing to our 4 ft tall strike force. I said to my
mate at the outset that with two midgets up front it
will really tell us whether we have the ability to
play through the middle. The answer was we couldn’t.
Their midfield had Mcphail who struggles to be mobile
at the best of times but we still couldn’t find any
space even with Cardiff playing with 10 men on the
defence. Reason – we have no pace and are a team of
cloggers who have no direction from the manager. At
least Mcphail can pass a ball ! Westlake can play but
he lacks pace, Derry can tackle and harry but he lacks
pace, Stone can pass the ball but he lacks pace, Lewis
can take free kicks but he lacks pace to get past his
man, Blake can play some clever football but he lacks
pace, Healy can instinctively score goals when he gets
in the box but he lacks pace to play as a winger,
Crainey can't defend and lacks pace. It’s so easy to
see. Blackwell should have addressed this in the
Summer.
I thought Cardiff were the better side throughout. In
Chopra they have a player who makes clever runs and
although I thought Killa did well against him
throughout he makes space and causes problems for the
defence. They also have a number of other players that
have a bit of pace who compensate for Mcphail’s
complete lack of pace leaving young Liam to pass the
ball around and take free kicks which he did pretty
effectively cos we allowed him to.
Second half Bakke came on a made a difference. He
pushed forward but to be honest it was a one man
effort. The goal when it came was a disaster. We were
attacking and Killa had pushed up to the edge of their
box. It came to him and he miscontrolled losing
possession but let’s be realistic here there was still
a hell of a lot of work to do before scoring. This
included moving the ball forward faster than Killa
could recover which they did expertly. The goal was
Killa’s fault but I think it was unlucky and I would
also ask what part Crainey played in this ? He was the
last man back but just didn’t contribute. Crainey
can’t defend and that’s official.

So 1 win out of 4 and that was lucky. I don’t see any
progression in Blackwell’s thinking and tactics. I do
see some better players (Stone, Westlake, Bakke) but
with this manager I think out options are limited.
It’s not looking like a great decision to give him
another season – the attendance and their reaction
today showed that. But as I said at the start of the
season – we’ll see won’t we.

Warner – 7. Some good solid saves in a busy first
half. Not much chance with the goal.
Kelly – 7. Some good defending at times.
Crainey – 4. All over the shop when it comes to
defending. I can’t believe we are in a position when
this bloke doesn’t have someone to push him for his
place. First name of the teamsheet every week.
Butler – 5. Limited, reserved performance as always.
Lots of pointing when exposed.
Killa – 4 (I’d give his defending 7 but you can’t
excuse the mistake) . Cost us the game through poor
control. Critics will argue that’s 6 points he’s cost
us. I couldn’t disagree. Drop him and get Gregan back
in ! I thought his defending at times today was
excellent. Did you see his reaction to the goal.
That’s a lad that cares.
Westlake – 5. Hard working but exposed as lacking pace
without players around him who can pass and move
without thinking about it.
Derry – 5. Limited , hardworking performance.
Lewis – 5. Tried to beat his man a few times – didn’t.
If he’s not scoring free-kicks what exactly does he
contribute to the team ?
Stone – 3. Obviously unfit.
Blake – 5. Disappointing. Looks unfit. Had to play in
the middle on his own in an ineffective 4-3-3.
Healy – 6. Tried hard , got frustrated as he’s not a
right winger.

Subs :-

Bakke – 7. Best Leeds player second half made a
difference.
Beckford – 6. One or two decent touches. Too naïve for
Kev though.

Crowd – 18,000 even the hooligans couldn’t be bothered
with this one. Cardiff brought about 300 fans and
there were about 500 police on duty. How can they
justify the overtime ? I can’t blame people for not
turning up to watch this drivel. Boos and a few
Blackwell out calls from the NE today (not from me !).
Not long before the banners go up. I think I’m a fool
for paying good money to watch this shit.

Blackwell – 0. Same old story. Let’s face it folks 4
points from 4 games is a continuation of our form in
the last 10 games of last season. In fact, if you look
at our last 17 games under Blackwell we’ve got 17
points (won 3 drawn 8 lost 6). Pathetic. Sean goes on
about Blackwell not being very lucky this season.
Well, we won against Norwich and didn’t deserve it –
that was lucky and in most of those 17 games we got
what we deserved - not a lot !
Sean, you said after Palace that Blackwell had spent 2
years working towards that performance. Does the same
go for today’s perfomance ?
I know we’re only 4 games in and it’s harsh to
criticise at this stage but you can see the same
mistakes and the same excuses. It just makes me sick
and the sooner we get rid of this idiot the better.
Sean, I know your Leeds through and through – we all
are. Can’t you see that the club needs to get rid of
this clown now ? He’s dragging us down. It’s not an
enjoyable experience to go to Leeds anymore. Surely
you can see that ?
