I disagree with that so far as our squad goes.

Defensively we have the same personnel, although if Foxe or the german bloke
gets signed we will be stronger. More importantly I think Killa is first
choice to start, he has proven himself to Blackwell. He may start at left
back because of Craineys injury, but if/when he chooses another left back
then Killa will be centreback.

Midfield we are much much stronger. Bakke is back and fit. Stone is fit.
Carole is a genuine winger. Nicholls looks to be a player who can push
Derry and Bakke for a first team spot. We have a genuine 4 man midfield
with proper wide players.

Up front, Hulse's departure makes us slightly weaker, especially whilst
Cresswell is injured, but everyone was saying how we had too many forwards
last season, and on paper Cresswell, Healy and Blake would get into most, if
not all, championship sides.

If we got the german bloke, plus a dorigo-esque left back (which are rarer
than hens teeth) then we would have a great squad.

Birmingham will probably struggle this season, they haven't been in the
championship for a few years so their players will not like it at all. West
Brom also to a lesser extent. As for the money, I think we are big enough
to compete on wages at this level, anyone wanting more than we can offer
wont want to be playing in the championship anyway, and I think we are a
bigger 'name' than anyone else in the division.
