I agree with Mark. Gone are the days when Leeds could willingly pay someone to just sit on the bench, we have to 'upgrade' the squad as we go along.. it was clearly a bonus that we got Nicholls and then this other one - who I also assume is Cisse.
It is not only the likes of Leeds Utd, I seem to remember Unsworth joining villa and then signing for Everton a few DAYS after. Blackwell has already commented on the problems with the transfer window - the fact that everyone holds on to their better players for grim death just in case they cant get a replacement.. and then you get a flurry of activity towards the end of the window. This is GOOD management. What would you rather he had done, not sign anyone and risk being short for the start of the season? Sign extra midfielders and not have enough budget to get the replacement for Hulse or a new defender? (we are talking transfer budget AND wage budget here). Stop being so melodramatic and TRY and look at it objectively for once. Also, the suggestion by someone that this has anything to do with Williams appointment is bordering on paranoia. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Moran Sent: 01 August 2006 18:41 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] Livermore! It's a complete fcking fiasco, for me, that only the likes of Leeds United get involved in. We're not going to agree on this one.
