My point, unfortunately, is that to all outsiders Blackwell IS a successful
manager, just like O'Leary was considered to be. If Wilko was VERY good and
VERY successful how come he only won one title, very nearly got us relegated
again and succeeded in getting Scumderland relegated?
Blackwell's most optimistic target was top 6, which he achieved. He,
therefore, IS at this moment in time successful. I, too, doubt that he will
be this time next year but for now he is.

There's a big difference as I said between worse and successful - WHO would
have come to Leeds last summer AND won the play offs or got automatic
promotion, guaranteed?

So we say, but that's not the opinion of most football experts who believe
the hype - I heard a guy on Five Live last Sunday tell Mark Bright that we'd
played that bad all season, Mark Bright refused to believe it saying 'You
can't have played that bad all season and have got to the play off final' -
yes we bloody could and did I was screaming at the radio BUT contrary to
what you have seen with your own eyes the stats will say that Blackwell
rebuilt Leeds United in 2 seasons to a team that qualified for the Play Off
final.

At best you can only play 2 centre forwards at once, as I recall Healy and
Hulse were both preferred to Marlon King - I don't think that that was wrong
and I don't recall you proclaiming that King should be placed above Hulse or
Healy in the pecking order either.

Rich Walker - 7/3/05 - 'Marlon King - crap.'

Andy E - 4/3/05 - Marlon King - a reply from a Forest supporting mate at
work: he has bags of talent, pace, a few tricks, and is the laziest piece of
sh1te to ever have pulled on a Forest shirt. Should fit in well at Leeds...

Matt Gaynor - 22/05/05 Marlon King 4 - Nearly made the invisible pile but
popped up and missed a penalty at Leicester to remind us that he'd been
playing. Don't think he had any impact on any of the games he played in. Get
rid now.

Tim Leslie - 10/02/04 - A mate of mine who's a Blades fan said (of their
recent 3-0 win at Forest) the scoreline was ridiculous, Forest outplayed
them all over the park but have two of the shittest strikers in professional
football who can't hit a barn door with a banjo (Marlon King and someone
else).

Blackwell has achieved what 20 'better' 'more successful' managers,
including at least 8 former premiership managers failed to achieve. So
credit where its due, he's done well, he's surpassed what was expected of
him but as you correctly say NOW he has to surpass what he has already
achieved.

Sorry to disappoint Rich but if we're in the top 2 at Christmas there is NO
WAY, regardless of how dull the football is, that Blackwell will be sacked.
In fact when Ken is faced with 2 and a half years compo we're gonna have to
be bottom 3 at Xmas to get him sacked.

Cheers
Paul
