OK then, we'll give Blackwell another 12 months, but if he doesn't get promotion next season, then Bates will probably lose patience with him. The summer of 2007 could be a good time to try to poach Boothroyd from Watford, if he's tried gamely to keep them in the Premiership on a very limited budget but narrowly failed. A few weeks ago I nominated Boothroyd as my choice for Leeds manager, and nothing happened yesterday to change my mind.
