Nobody should have had to leave the field of play. The "sending off" of a
substitued player is the same sort of thing as sending Wanker Warnock to
the stands. You should have been reported to your local FA for your heinous
conduct and duly suspended for x matches but the constitution of your team
on the park should have remained the same (though of course we know it's
hypothetical and you didn't actually do anything wrong and anyway it wasn't
you it was a mate who did it and you were just asking what should have
happened).
For arguments sake, say it WAS me and not my mate, I would like to point out
that being 5 foot 10 and 140 pounds, I'm about as effective at twatting
someone as my 3 yr old daughter, I'm not sure the bloke actually noticed to
be honest.
