After the match has finished it's a misconduct charge reported to the relevant authorities and while the red card may be shown if the referee is still on the field of play, it's not, strictly speaking, a sending off (or dismissal in official Laws terminology).
A substituted player is also reported for misconduct if he does what Jeremy said. An onfield player should not have been removed from the field of play. If the substitute had not been used and did the same thing then he would be sent off for violent conduct -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mark Humphries Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2006 7:46 PM To: 'Jeremy Adams'; [email protected] Subject: RE: [LU] talking of refs... Yes of course he can. He can red card people after the match has finished too. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:leedslist- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeremy Adams > Sent: 18 May 2006 19:41 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [LU] talking of refs... > > While we're on the subject of laws of the game, can a referee send off > a player who's already been substituted, if he leaves the bench, runs > on the pitch and twats an opposition player?
