Yep - you would have thought so, but maybe employment freedom laws stopped
them?
Some of the defence was that Harris didn't know that, the first option bit
was part of the contract signed by Cardiff & him !
it seems it was an illegal approach (or so the court said) - but the
compensation claimed, is based on the amount of money they lost out on,
because he didn;t sign for them - As they had the biggest crowds & won the
Grand Final in that year - what did they lose??
