Probably the wrong list to ask, but what is the state of dwarf3
support in FPC? From the many dwarf articles I have read tonight, it
seems dwarf 3 final spec was released back in January 2006, so I would
imagine any new debugger improvements must use dwarf 3 instead of
dwarf 2? But as for as I know the default dwarf format used by FPC is
dwarf 2... why is that?

From what I have read dwarf2 was just such a big mess as Coff - little
documentation, various incompatible implementations etc... All this
and more was what dwarf 3 aimed to resolve. Correct?
