Jeri As I understand it, this International Lace Day idea first appeared on the facebook in 2015, by Bolillera Maribel (that is the name she uses on facebook). This is the thing about the internet; anyone and everyone has equal freedom to create or post anything they like, without a bunch of people standing behind them and authorizing their activities. It results in a certain amount of chaos. But it also means that the individual has a great deal of freedom to do whatever they like. It is my impression that the national lace groups did not get together to establish an international lace day. So this lady just went and did it on her own. If her effort works, well and good. And it does seem to be working.
