There appears to be some confusion about my acquiring caller id data. I wrote a perl program that parses the SMDR (via the RS232 port) and stores it into Mysql on the trixbox. The asterisk code, upon seeing an incoming extension port ring, reads the database and looks for the last entry with the RC (ring) code. There is a chance this could turn out wrong if two lines ring close enough together but I think this is the best I can do without newer hardware. It would have also helped if the SMDR timestamp had seconds.
This problem is solved and this code works. I just need to prevent both incoming lines from ringing at the same time as it makes the asterisk server think it needs to answer both when in fact they are the same call. This wouldn't be so bad but if you want to forward the call or dial back out, one of the extensions is tied up doing nothing. I am beginning to think that I may have to solve this problem inside of asterisk. Thanks, Greg On Oct 21, 2006, at 12:52 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Thanks for all the responses.
