It sound like you had a power surge, then a failure. Initial damage is what
is immediately discernable. Then you have the effect of that stress on the
life expectancy on the circuit components. I would replace it, rather than
risk many callbacks and a peeved customer.

Subject: KX-T: Power failure fried KX-TD1232-1

I had a power failure that seemed to take my KX-TD1232-1 with it and
caused a transformer fire out on the poll. Most of the system works but
my 101 extension powers on and off about every 1-2 seconds. My wireless
handset won't light up the CO leds. I think I lost a few proprietary
phones though I cannot be certain what is a PBX and what is phone
damage.

My question for the collective wisdom is whether it is worth repairing
the system or getting a new one. I need to preserve the proprietary
handsets.

Thanks,
Greg
