It sound like you had a power surge, then a failure. Initial damage is what is immediately discernable. Then you have the effect of that stress on the life expectancy on the circuit components. I would replace it, rather than risk many callbacks and a peeved customer.

I think I lost a few proprietary phones though I cannot be certain what is a PBX and what is phone damage. My question for the collective wisdom is whether it is worth repairing the system or getting a new one. I need to preserve the proprietary handsets.
