On the KXTD1232 systems, I have used phantom extensions to receive incoming calls that have been directed to say "sales" by the voicemail system. In this way, multiple physical extensions can have the phantom extension appear on their instrument and any one of the group can answer the "sales" call.
I can't find the programming option to create a phantom or floating extension on the kxta824. Does it not have this feature? If not, what is the suggested setup to perform the function in my first paragraph?
