The reason I recommended the 99 Mhz link was that Nick stated "There is
some tree coverage between the two structures so line of sight is not
possible.

In rain, depending on foliage, Nick may have problems. If he had stated a
clear line-of-sight I would have made the 802.11B (with directional
antennas) recommendation. I would be concerned that in heavy rain, and with
wet foliage, he will have link degradation.
