Maybe you are right as most of our experience has been with the TDA50 instead of the 100 or 200. Here are some of the short comings we have found mostly with the 50. Maybe we just are not as familiar with the product so if anyone has ideas or workarounds regarding these we would love to hear them.
If someone uses exec overide to barge in and the original extension justs hangs up (they always forget to press transfer) the call is dropped. On the TD this does not happen. Law offices use exec. overide often. If an ext is set to get a CO line when going off hook (prime outgoing)and they press a DSS button after off hook the auto answer does not work and the call is transferred (rings) the ext. Auto answer works correctly on the TD regardless of prime line set to CO. When a call rings into an ICD group and the user wants it to ring 3 times (not twice or four times) and go to another destination (voice mail) it can't. Intercept routing does not work for calls to an ICD group, you must use the overflow time in the group that allows only 10 or 20 seconds. When a calls is just missed at an extension that is forwarded to voice mail you cannot barge into the CO line and retreive the call. You can on the TD. These are just some of what we have found. I know that the TDA can also do many things that the TD cannot. I just wish they would have given us everything and more in the TDA. We also have 30 or 40 customers with TD816 systems installed and when they want to upgrade past the 816 size it is not very cost effective. When you start putting the older 74XX phones on the TDA100 it gets very expensive ($$$large power supply) and fills up the slots real fast. Lets just hope they come out with a new version TDA before the TD is discontinued. --- Charles Patterson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >Why doesn'nt the TDA have phantom extensions? > > We use them all the time. > > When I first heard "no phantoms" in class, I thought > "oh no...I use them all > the time!"
