Yo Michael-

Yes, KXTDA can solve this nicely. (Note the parenthetical decimal numbers below refer to the locations in the programming screen hierarchy, using the PC programming tool.)

In the DISA queuing timetable (3.5.3), you set up the sequence that callers go through whilst waiting for answer. You can include elements in that sequence that play DISA OGMs (5.3.2). DISA OGMs can have menus for single-digit dialing. You can refer to this as your "leave message now" OGM.

These single digits normally map to extensions only, i.e. the dialing strings can't include codes to go into voicemail (e.g. 165p#6pNNN where NNN = mailbox number). However, you can if needed use ICD group numbers and vacant extension number positions, with "call forward all calls to voicemailbox" to achieve the same result.

One thing I think would be cool to try, though I haven't tried it yet: Plug a telephone into the DXDP port, dial the code for "call forward all calls to voicemail" and then use the extension number of the DXDP port as the destination extension for the "press digit X to leave a message." Then remove the telephone from the DXDP port, and see if the call-forwarding still works properly. My guess is that it will; I used to do something similar with the KXTD system using its regular digital ports (of course it also works with analog ports but that's not surprising).

Result is, caller goes into queue, hears music for however-long, then hears the "leave message now" OGM, for example, "if you wish to exit the queue and leave a message, press 2 now." Caller presses 2. DISA AA transfers caller to programmed extension, call-forward on extension transfers caller to mailbox, caller doesn't know any of this has occurred and just hears mailbox greeting and can leave a message.

That should take care of the situation.

Cheers!-

Hi -
hoping someone can help:
my equipment:
KXTD1232-7
TVS125 (voicemail)
DISA191

Considering there is no way for a caller to have the option to leave a message while in a UCD queue on the DISA card (God I wish that was an option - anyone know if that option works on a TDA?), I am forced to go with option 2, which is: at the end of the UCD table, have the caller transfer to an overflow extention. At that time I would like them to have the option to press 1 to leave a message or press 2 to return to the UCD queue (unless someone has a better idea). MY PROBLEM: when the caller goes to the overflow extension, it transfers just fine, but the voicemail never picks up...?

If I have the call transfer to a real extension, it rings forever.... if it transfers to a group extension (ie. 193), the call rings for a while then transfers to the main menu on the voicemail. (please note that I am using FXD to originally transfer to ext.192 (group 2) to utilize the DISA card with OGM)

Please help... thanks in advance.
