Yeah, I am looking into doing VOIP for a customer, and am currently looking to see if some sort of box (computer) can replace the KSU, and just use IP phones. I've got to do more research (and would entertain any and all info anyone here has, off-list), but right now, it looks like I'm gonna go with a KXTD1232 and a bunch of Cisco ATA186Vs to emulate the CO lines. The Cisco box (2 ports) is going pretty cheap on ebay.

Oh boy! I bet this is going to be a hot thread!

First, don.t get me wrong - like most of us here, I too like Panasonic.
None (?) of us here are Panasonic employees, however, and our success
depends on providing and supporting the best solutions - and for a long
time, that included Panasonic products.

I've had the feeling that Panasonic has been letting their phone offerings
slide for at least the past 2 - 3 years. Some features should have been old
hat years ago - like integration of Caller ID and Distinctive Ring, flash
upgradable firmware, more than 3 way conferencing, CTI.

Bob Puff's posting on Multitech VOIP support got me excited for a second - I
envisioned something like a KX-TDvoip card that added 4 COs as VOIP with an
RJ45 on the side. Nope, just a little marketing hype.

Ads that I might have thrown straight in the trash are now catching my
interest, so Panasonic had better catch up to their competitors soon.
