Here is the hardware:
Panasonic Digital Super Hybrid System D1232 (No DISA cards)
Panasonic TVS200 Voice Processing System

I recently emailed a few problems I was having to this list and got a few suggestions
(thanks) that I am trying. I'm having a problem with one though. After the user
presses a certain key, I would like the call to be placed on HOLD. From my
understanding, the VPS is just like a phone to the PBX. So if a user can take a call
and press the hold button to put the call on hold, why can't the VPS?

The closest thing that I have gotten is to transfer the call to an extension with the
Dialing Parameters for Extension Transfer Sequence set to FXD. We know that this
given extension will not answer so it is effectively on hold. It will only work for
a maximum of 4 minutes though since the Transfer Recall Time on the PBX is set to a
maximum value of 48 rings (1 ring = 5 seconds, 48 * 5 = 240 seconds = 4 minutes).
Then at that point the call gets sent back to the VPS.

It doesn't seem like the hardware has a way to allow a longer "hold" time but if I
can fake it out somehow to effectively achieve the same thing, that will work just as
well.

Any suggestions?

cheers,
Rob
