I've experienced this problem with a number of KX-TD816-4 and KX-TD1232-4 (I
haven't experimented with -5 yet) systems. I found that, immediately after
performing batch programming using the E1232A.EXE software, the message
waiting keys that were programmed on flexible buttons wouldn't always work
correctly. More specifically, if a new message was left in the mailbox, the
light would not be lit, but the button would function to retrieve the
message, as if it were lit. After some experimentation, I found that if I
power the system down (or use the reset button) after performing batch
programming, that the lights seem to work fine afterwards. It is a little
bit of a pain to have to shut the system down after batch programming,
though.

I know that some of the -4 feature enhancements require that you reset the
system after programming, but I don't recall that flexible message waiting
lights was one of the features that required this.

Hi....

Great little forum here... Hopefully someone can help
me with a little problem I have. I setup a phone so
that 3 dss buttons were setup as Message waiting
lights for 3 mailbox's. But the lights wont turn on
and off. If I unplug the phone and plug it back in,
the lights will show correctly but they dont turn on
or off without having to unplug the phone. I have
tried reseting the system and reprograming with the
same results. I am running a kx-td1232-4 system. Any
help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
