Hi there Jean-Charles.

No one would build a KR aircraft just like or as close to the original Ken Rand
aircraft, these days. The materials available now are so much better.

The glass cloth we now use is a German cloth called 92/125 for most with the
lighter 92/110. We use resin L295
Blue Styrofoam not eurothane foam stuck together with A+B liquid expanding foam.

The glass fibre lay up has changed. We now have no joins in the cloth on the
leaving edge or main spar

You don't need carbon at all, there is not enough cloth to make a difference
with just the one layer of 92/125 in most places and just two on the D box.

All the infotainment is available. The weight saving with the new materials
and techniques is massive. Don't listen to all of the Americans, there is a
lot of good advice from them, but a lot of just rubbish as well.

Any questions, just ask myself. I wouldn't broadcast on KRNET, you will get
some good advice, but masses of bad advice.

Cheers Colin

Hi Larry
as I said to Bob I will use the "Rutan" fiber glass cloth even if I'm still
tempted by carbon fiber especially if the weight gain is significant. Weight
will be a constant concern during construction. For the moment as I know
nothing about composite the opinion of those who know will the law to me

Try contacting https://www.aircraftspruce.eu/

This looks like the same item they list on the USA site as "kr cloth".

Try to resist the urge to use carbon fiber. Much more expensive and totally
unnecessary.
