If that’s not Photoshopped, he just increased his HP to 140!

When I first saw the photo that Zach sent me I knew I had to pass it
along. This was a "David Copperfield" moment on how to increase the
speed of your KR. At least it got a bit of chatter going as the net has
been a bit quiet lately. I hope we still have builders out there.
The 0-200 was / is rated at 100HP at 2750 rpm. That rating was probably
determined at 28º btdc, standard compression (7:1) ?. At some point
they found rocker arm boss cracks and published an A.D. to back the
timing back to 24º btdc. With later new and improved cylinders the
timing could be set back to 28º. Zach has the rebuilt older style
cylinders so for reliability he would want to run the 24º setting.
Assuming a cruise rpm of 2500 rpm and he looses 75 rpm (that is probably
high) , my guesstimate would be he looses maybe 1.9 hp. The KR is so
fast, how would you know? We're talking nits in the real world.
Keep on building and I'm guessing 211LF will be grinning through her
cowling intakes to get back in the air.
