Great video Craig- Yes it could have been much worse ! this could have happened on any one of your previous flights. Someone is watching out for you. I am assembling my engine now (Corvair also)and this scenario begs the question- Are there any preventive measures that I can take at this point (heads not installed but ready and could be installed immediately) Can the valve seats be staked around the O.D. to help hold them in place or is this a bad idea. It would require the disassembly of the valves and springs BUT I'd rather do that now for some added peace of mind. Any body found a solution for this ? How common is this problem ?
