After my post this morning I received several post from net members that said they also had 50+ years of flying.  For 50+ years of flying without accident or incident in the U.S. , pilots are eligible for the "Master Pilot Award".  You simply need to submit an application along with three letters of recommendation to the FAA and they go back through your records, including test scores from 50 years ago, and determine if you are eligible or not.  If so, you will be presented with the award at an FAA function or, as I did, at our awards banquet at the 2019 KR Gathering.  Don't feel guilty about seeking your own pat on the back as you deserve it and no one can do it for you.  It is actually more than just the flying part as they look at your contribution to aviation safety and education as well as promoting / assisting others in aviation in your community.
