Thank you so much Mr. Parley for your deep insights of testing fly your KR2, which I believe was the same exact original design as mine! Yes, I think the Ron Robinson supplied cable drum break for the KR2 was a joke, and the quality is so poor that I would not wish to use it on a golf cart, much less to put it on a aircraft! You are exactly right, one of the key factors the break doesn't work is beause the drum is not round at all!
I will be grateful to hear about how you converted your cable break into a hydraulic powered disk break system without major overhaul or modifications that will be intrusive to both sides of the wings? Are the break parts or components you purchased many years ago still available these days from somewhere? My worry is that the empty weight will likely to be increased significantly after the conversation is completed, right? Not sure if you also converted your taildragger landing gear to the tricycle gear? This could really be a nightmare scenario if not a completely show stopper for my KR2 dream....
