Dr. Hsu,

There are lots of other solutions for the wing gap besides vinyl tape, I've
seen fiberglass, aluminum and old Venetian Blinds used. All builder preference.
You could fly a KR without a covering for the gaps if you like as well.

For stowable wings, you could just build a cradle to carry them vertically that
fits on your trailer with the airplane. I've seen many variations on this with
all types of experimental aircraft. With two people, I am sure the wings can be
taken off or installed in less than 30 minutes with the current design.

I have not seen a BRS on a KR yet. Does mean it hasn't happened, I just have
not seen one. It is experimental, no reason you could not try it. It would need
a beefed-up structure to handle it, so some real engineering is needed for that
design.

Thanks,

Subject: Re: KR> Building Question

I had the same issue, and I was honestly surprised to hear how folks from this
group telling me about the solution - simply use 3 or 4 inch vinyl tapes!!! I
thought about using tape at first, but I was hoping to hear something better
than that. I kept wondering what was in the mind of KR on this matter when he
was designing this aircraft?

I don't understand why KR didn't choose the design solution on the wing
management like what the Sonex designer did for the Sonex with very limited
design changes...

I have some idea to make small modifications to make the current KR wings
stowable, and I would like to hear any other ideas which may work better with
minimum effort?! Also, I am wondering if anyone ever did or tried to install a
BRS on the KR2?
