I woke up this morning still "ticked" about Uavionics jacking up the price on their tail light unit $500 and was motivated to send them the following e-mail. What should have been a 30 minute install cost me one day already and will cost me the better part of a second. Just getting old a grumpy............
"I am motivated to write this e-mail after spending the better part of a day in the hangar attempting to mount the Skybeacon unit to the wing of my experimental that has a 22.5 degree slant. I had intended to purchase the tail light unit but before I was financially able to make the purchases you discontinued the produce. I could still get that IDENTICAL unit for an additional $500. That brings me to the point of this e-mail. You allowed the "experimental" community to test your product and prove reliability until you were able to get "certification" and then you simply marked the price up $500. I'm convinced you were making a good profit at the "experimental" price so why turn you back on the market that brought you success? You are fortunate not to have any real competition or the experimental market might well turn their back on your company. In my world this puts you in the same league as the kid who wants his father to pay him to mow the lawn. No appreciation for things or services received."
