Larry has a good solution to that. Another one is to duct tape the joint (as a release agent) and lay up three layers of 3" wide fiberglass tape/epoxy on the joint, rear of wing top to rear of wing bottom, continuous. I used two #2 screws on the bottom of each gap seal, at the rear, with no adhesive anywhere.

More importantly, I can tell you that gap seals are really mandatory. I flew once without them installed (probably just to see if it mattered), and it made a huge difference in takeoff distance and climb rate. Don't try this with a short runway, and definitely don't try it with just one gap seal missing!
