Since there hasn't been much chat, I guess I'll bite.

Without making this my own personal blog, after getting a lot of
encouragement from my wife, who reminded me how much enjoyment the little
flying machine has brought me, I have decided not to sell N6399U. I must
say, I am very lucky to have someone who understands my passion for flying,
and also who gave me some words of motivation to keep the plane, rather
than sell it.

With that being said, I have decided to look into another improvement as
far as gaining a few extra knots during cruise, this time on the exhaust
pipes. My current system has the exhaust pipes sticking straight out of
the cowling (about half way between the inlet/exit portions of the lower
cowling), meaning that they create a lot more drag than if they were
sticking out at the back of the cowling with proper fairings. My hope is
to make them more streamlined (similar to Mark Langford's, or Troy
Pettway's setup), and a publication in aerodynamics revealed that this can
reduce the parasitic drag by 3.6% (will eventually post the publication if
anybody is curious, however I'm having trouble finding it again on
Google).

My current cruise airspeed is 110-112 knots at around 3000 feet MSL. After
streamlining the exhaust, I'll post back here with any improvements I
gained from streamlining the exhaust.

Hope all is well, and safe flying!
