Bob Nuckolls of AeroElectric fame wrote this article at http://www.aeroelectric.com/articles/filter/RS_Noise_Filters.pdf detailing how to do this, or how it could be bought from Radio Shack for just a few bucks for the lazy ones out there. Not sure if they are still available, but similar parts certainly would be.

I built one and installed it on the power side of my radio and I've never heard engine noise except a tiny trace when idling on the ground with the squelch off so I can pick up a distant AWOS to check weather. I was also very careful to shield and ground all the headphone jack wiring and that kind of thing.

Of course that's a bit like a guy at my airport saying that one of those ultrasonic things in his C-210 has kept the mice away for decades, but one could also argue that it keeps elephants out of this hangar also, since you can't be entirely sure exactly what solved the problem. I never flew without it, so can't say it solved anything.
