I would add about 2-3 inches to the width and make the widest point at the
shoulders, rather than at the knees, as all the KRs are designed to be. As it
is the longerons are pressing against my arms. I am 5'7", Wear a 46 R flight
suit, 190 lbs, 36-38 waist (and dropping). You'll love your KR1 though. I'm
glad to see more of us building this sweet little plane. Maybe it will make a
comeback! Feel free to contact me directly any time. I would stick with buying
through Wicks or Aircraft Spruce  (although you should probably buy some cheap
crap to practice you r cuts and setups on). The local wood I have seen does not
meet good buiding practice AT ALL. DOWLOAD ALL THE CHAPTERS OF FAA PUB
AC-43.13-1B. READ ABOUT WOODS AND COMPOSITES. IM CERTAIN IT WILL HELP YOU. DONT
CUT CORNERS ON THE FRAME.

A dynel type material is sold by boat repair/builders supply Jamestown
Distributors. I just bought 4 yards. It has been used with the west systm
epoxy. Google that one and do your research.

Read the KRnewsletters. This is not all of them., but soem of them. they are a
WEALTH of info.

I'm pretty well settled on the KR-1.

I have a few questions.

First, I'd like to find the materials locally.   H

What's the usual replacement for the design fabric.

What else should I know?

Greg "Nerobro" Teiber.
