The AeroCarb is more a copy of the old Posa than it is a copy of the
Ellison. I had an AeroCarb back when I was having trouble locating an EFS-2
and in my humble opinion there is no contest as to which one is the better
Carb. There is a contest on price and AeroCarb wins that one by a long
shot.

Now that you can no longer buy the EFS-2 unless you find a used one, and be
careful on that because there are 2 versions of the EFS-2 and the only way
to know if it is the right one for the VW engine is to contact Ellison and
ask them that question and be very specific. You will have to give them the
serial number. If I were trying to find a Carb for my 2276 VW, which is for
sale, I would suggest a carb that was used on the Continental 65 or 75
engines.

For the Corvair, I am sure that the MA3 is a great carb and has been proven
to be so, but having been used to the Ellisons, I chose to stick with it for
my Corvair and am very glad that I did. It made a very nice installation
and performs very well.

I had a Rotec just after they came out and was very perplexed by the way
they had it set up. I sold it for what I paid for it, which was about half
of what an EFS-3A is, and have absolutely no regrets. I don't know how it
performs but the best way I have to describe how they have it set up is
"HOKEY".

My main point here, however, is that the AeroCarb is NOT a copy of the
Ellison by any stretch.

I did not realize the AeroCarb was a close copy of the EFS-2!
I wonder if the AeroCarb would be an option? I suppose I need to look at
throat diameter.
