Interesting web site with that hot wire material. You guys aren't thinking your going to use this wire for HOT wire cutting are you? I think this is to be used in some sort of machine that would move the wire like a saw blade, similar to a band saw. Trying to heat this wire to cut with shouldn't work because it is coated with diamond (or whatever) that would make the wire surface cooler. The surface temperature is what your trying to cut with on a hot wire. If your getting accurate cuts with 4' chunks of foam, that should be fine as you wouldn't have to glue many sections together to get the full wing span.
