> Mike As I said before, I'm new to all this and I am so excited that I have the opportunity to build an aircraft and get a Light Sport ticket. I am not trying to rankle any feathers of all of you that have been doing this and involved with homebuilding and EAA for many years. I have a great respect for you and have so much to learn from you. I have learned so much from Mark Langford's web site and so many others. Just think about this... If it weren't for EAA, homebuilders would have no unified voice with government and no representation with the FAA. Would there even be a Sport Pilot category if it weren't for EAA? And all of the workshops, seminars and on-line resources that EAA has. I was very surprised to discover how big EAA is. Because of its size there are benefits and drawbacks. I'm sure that "things aren't the way they used to be". Well, times change. Get over it. In my humble opinion EAA is a very wonderful organization that I am proud to support. There is so much good being done for so many aspects of aviation. If you are not happy with the direction the organization is taking why not try to use your experience and influence to make a positive change instead of complaining and quitting? Just don't expect to get your own way all the time. Just my "new-guy" perspective..... Dwight Hapeman
