Nick I made temporary bulkheads from 1/2" ply with a cleat fastening them to my work table. My sides are vertical (no banana boat shape). The temp bulkheads are at important points (firewall, forward spar, aft spar, and several places along the tail cone. They could also be trapezoidal if you want to build your fuselage with the banana boat shape. With each side, I fastened the bulkheads in place and immediately upon gluing and stapling on the skin, I clamped the side to the bulkheads and let them cure in that curved shape. I had no trouble or breakage doing it this way. I see that you already have your skins glued on in a flat configuration. You should still be able to bend them to get a wider fuselage. I would suggest that you slowly pull them to the desired shape. This is how most builders have constructrd their fuselages. I remember a builder from the northeast (Vermont or New Hampshire) that I met at Brian Kraut campsite at Sun-n-Fun 2006 who dampened his side trusses because he heard cracking noises when he started to bend his fuselage. I guess the added moisture made them a little more flexible. I found that using the bulkheads held everything rigid and inline till all the lower crossmembers and bottom skin are fit and glued fast. Hope this helps.

I originally wanted to go a few inches wider, but could barely get the fuse to bend to begin with, so I'm back to plan width (sucks, but it'll have to do). _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to krnet-le...@mylist.net Post photos, introductions, and For Sale items to http://www.kr2forum.com/phpBB2/index.php please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html _________________________________________________________________ Mortgage refinance is Hot. *Terms.
