I almost bought a Microair transponder, but the more I looked, the more problems I found. They're up to some high revision level already, and they were having problems in congested airspace with a problem that resulted in the unit shutting itself down. There was a newer rev late last year that supposedly fixed it, but I couldn't find one to buy. I checked a lot of places that said they were dealers, and nobody had any in stock. Finally one guy told me he was tired of the hassles of dealing with returns and reliability problems, and he'd quit selling them. He recommended the Becker, which is what I bought, and I've been happy with it. Thanks to all the replies on the A-200. There's one on a UPS plane headed my way right now. Although I like the idea of the versatility that comes with a 2.25" instrument footprint, the standard radio size allows me to keep flying, rather than create a new panel, so that's what I'm going to do for now. I look forward to clear communications with you guys in the future...
