I almost bought a Microair transponder, but the more I looked, the more
problems I found.  They're up to some high revision level already, and they
were having problems in congested airspace with a problem that resulted in
the unit shutting itself down.  There was  a newer rev late last year that
supposedly fixed it, but I couldn't find one to buy.  I checked a lot of
places that said they were dealers, and nobody had any in stock.  Finally
one guy told me he was tired of the hassles of dealing with returns and
reliability problems, and he'd quit selling them.  He recommended the
Becker, which is what I bought, and I've been happy with it.

Thanks to all the replies on the A-200.  There's one on a UPS plane headed
my way right now.  Although I like the idea of the versatility that comes
with a 2.25" instrument footprint, the standard radio size allows me to keep
flying, rather than create a new panel, so that's what I'm going to do for
now.  I look forward to clear communications with you guys in the future...
