You could use the second contact to control some function but you could also control other functions with individual switches if you like. The choice is really up to you. My master switch controls only the relay that puts power to the 12 volt buss. My alternator output is controlled by a second switch that energized a relay that ties the alternator output to the buss / battery. Larry Flesner
