You bet it is better to fly in. I have done a few flights with temps in
the upper 20's. I was just wondering if anyone else is flying in
freezing weather. The last flight I made were with a surface temp of 29?
but there was a warm air mass above that and when I reached 3000', I
could feel the cockpit warming up. I have no heater installed yet and
the hangar is simply too cold to do any work in to get it done. I will
have one before next winter....of course, I said that last winter...

Mark,

We have finally warmed up above freezing here in the last week and a
half, but prior to that we had not gotten above 32 for 5 weeks straight!
Our lowest temp was only -10F but still that's cold. I live about 600'
high than the townies do and very close to 4SD's altitude. Yet when the
sun was shining there were plenty of Spam cans flying and a few RV's and
the one Diamond Aircraft that's at the field.

Besides I thought cold dense air was better to fly in than that hot
humid stuff you guys get. :)
