I didn't post this yesterday, because I was sure everybody knew about it, 
but visit
http://www.aeroelectric.com/ for the answers to ALL of these kinds of 
questions, many of which are online.  On that page enter "ammeter shunt" in 
the search box, and you'll have your answer (after opening the pdf file and 
searching for it again).   I kid you not when I say that buying his $33 will 
be the best money you'll ever put into your airplane.  I wish I'd read it a 
long time before I got around to wiring the panel on mine.  The Aeroelectric
