I've mentioned this book a while back when the subject of initial flights of KR's came up. It's worth mentioning again. Wolfgang Langewiesche, Stick and Rudder.
Page 287 - the chapter called The Landing. I'd read the book as a teenager, as I'm sure everyone has who had an early interest in flying, but it wasn't 'till I'd gone back and re-read what Langewiesche has to say about landing airplanes that I was finally able to relax and stop worrying about hitting my prop. I had retractable gear on my first KR plus a long Maloof CS prop. I think I had 5 inches clearance while in the level attitude. Revmaster Joe wanted $500 for new blades at the time so it was a worry. I re-read the chapter on landing a couple times and stopped worrying. For anyone learning to fly, Stick and Rudder should be the first one to read. For anyone landing a KR, Jim Faugn's article on the subject should also be considered required reading. Also, brakes are for taxiing. That's it.
